BEATRAPS finds a new bear cave….

Beartrap relaunches at Manbar every Monday starting on 4th February 2013. Moving from the recently closed down LoProfile, Beartrap will reemerge from the cave to a new dawn of bear antics at Soho’s newest gay venue Manbar.

Get your claws out for special drink promotions, special shows and London’s finest DJs. Don’t worry Goldilocks because our furry DJs – Severino, Phil Marriott and Ross Jones don’t bite – unless provoked!

Promoter Manuel Cartagenero is famous for his bear-friendly nights including The Cave at Barcode, Ursus, Matador and he also currently looks after Butch at East Bloc. Manuel launched Beartrap 18 months ago at LoProfile and it quickly became the foremost bear night in Soho each week.

Beartrap and Manbar looks set to build on it’s previous success with extra frills in store, including the opportunity to win prizes – every drink gets you a raffle ticket to be in with a chance to snap up some goodies.

It is worth noting Manbar never charges a cover charge for entry to the venue and this still applies to Beartrap – free entry for everyone. Drink promotions include Carlsberg £3, Magners £3, House Spirits + Mixer £3 – doubles £5.

Launching on Monday 4th February Beartrap is the start of the week guilty pleasure for all you bear loving men.

News: XXL Club Moves Home

There’s big news for the many fans of XXL – the award-winning London club night which recently scooped the inaugural Out In The City readers award for ‘Club of the Year’. Already the biggest weekly bears club in the world, promoter Mark Ames has announced that he is relocating the night from its current home, Arcadia on Southwark Street, to his new mega-club, Pulse, ten minutes down the road at 1 Invicta Plaza (SE1 9UF)…

 

A statement from the club says, “For the past few months XXL has seen unprecedented numbers through its doors so much so it’s been on Mark Ames’s mind to move XXL to the larger venue Pulse to offer a more substantial and pleasurable clubbing experience… with bigger arenas, better sound and bolder lighting.”

“This has now been brought forward due to a structural fault in the two main arches at Arcadia. Due to Health and Safety, Network Rail has asked that the premises be vacated on Monday the 12th March as it is becoming structurally unsound for the use of amplified music – this will give us the opportunity to add additional rooms and nights to XXL making it bigger, bolder and better.”

This Saturday’s night at Arcadia (10 March) will be the final XXL party at its original home, before the move next weekend to the 5,000-capacity Pulse. For more details, keep checking www.xxl-london.com

Lo Profile is more known for gAyLIST boys and glamour girls, but they also attract thier fair share of bears, skins and the sort.  dedicating a night to the Bears only seemed a natural step and with Bear event promoter Manuel Garcia behind…the BearTrap is born!

BEARTRAP is a new party for Bears, their friends and admirers.
It will take place weekly, every (Monday)at one of the most popular disco-bars in London’s Soho: Lo-Profile ! Some of the best DJs in the UK Bear scene such as DJ Phil Marriott, DJ Leonardo Glovibes and DJ Benjamin will be spinning at the decks!!

Clubbing: Bear Wednesdays

XXL Wednesday has been an instituion for 10 years, but recently they have ‘upgraded’ the night. What’s different?

XXL WEDNESDAYS have been a bear scene institution over the last 10 years. As with all greats we feel that there is a time to give it a facelift and a bit of a new spin.

 

So what’s with the shake up? Well we are giving you more of it.

 

First of all we will be throwing open our doors at 9pm. Free entry all night long to XXL members. Non XXL Members pay only £3 to get in after 10pm.

 

To get you in the mood for dancing, we’ve got an amazing happy hour on from 9pm – 11pm on £2 selected pints and £3.50 house double & gun mixer

 

Music wise from 9pm-10pm expect chart, retro and classics to mix and mingle too. At 10pm we take it up a notch with the return of XXL’s Favorite DJ, DJ CHNRISTIANM! He will be providing those Saturday tunes that you know and love mixed in with some good old classic floor fillers!

 

All this and the darkened play spaces.. What more could you ask for on a Wednesday night 9pm – 3am // Members Free all night/ XXL Guests £3 After 10pm
