CLUBBING: BACKSTREET
BACKSTREET is one of London’s Longest running fetish bars.
They say
We’ve been here since 1985. We’re London’s longest-running leather bar, right in the heart of the East End.
The Backstreet is a place for gay men who are into leather or rubber. Our strict dress code has made us famous, and over the years we’ve become an institution among leather and rubber men worldwide. There’s nowhere else quite like us.
What to expect
We’re definitely about cruising. But we’re about community too. The Backstreet is widely known for being friendly and sociable – as well as horny and atmospheric.
At the club you’ll find:
- a fully licensed bar
- space to change into your gear
- private outdoor smoking area
- large cruising area
We give out free condoms and lube to help you stay safe.
We have a strict no-drugs policy.
Membership
Membership costs £25 a year, and it’s free if you’re under 25 – just bring proof of age. You don’t have to have the membership to come into the club. But as a member, you get a reduced-price entry on any of our leather/rubber nights, which includes the night you join.
We only sell membership at the door. It isn’t available to buy online.
Merchandise
In 1987, celebrated artist Tom of Finland created two designs for The Backstreet – Leatherman and Rubberboy. We sell a line of merchandise based on the Leatherman emblem, including t-shirts, posters and art prints.
You can only buy our merchandise at the club. We don’t sell it online.
